Know Your Fabrics
Every Zeest product page names its fabric. This guide explains what each fabric we actually use feels like, how it drapes, how opaque it is, and how to wash and store it — so you can choose with confidence.
Nidha — for abayas
A smooth, lightweight fabric with a fluid drape and a soft matte finish. Nidha is fully opaque, breathes well in heat and resists creasing, which is why it is our classic abaya fabric. Care: gentle machine wash cold, hang dry in shade, cool iron if needed.
Crepe — for occasion abayas
A softly textured fabric with an elegant fall and a little more body than nidha. Opaque and comfortable for long wear — we use it for embroidered, occasion-ready abayas. Care: gentle hand wash cold, dry in shade, iron embroidery on the reverse on low.
Chiffon — for polished hijabs
Feather-light and smooth with a graceful drape. Chiffon is slightly sheer by nature, so for full coverage we recommend wearing it over an underscarf cap — it grips the cap and stays in place. Care: hand wash cold, hang dry in shade; do not wring.
Cotton Jersey — for everyday hijabs & caps
A soft knit with comfortable stretch. Fully opaque, breathable and wrinkle-resistant — the wrap-and-go fabric that needs no pins and no underscarf. Care: machine wash cold, hang dry.
Crinkle Viscose — for travel scarves
A lightweight woven fabric with a permanent crinkled texture. The texture grips gently, so the scarf stays put without pins — and it never needs ironing, which makes it our travel favourite. Care: hand wash cold, hang dry in shade; twist gently when damp to refresh the crinkle.
Lawn & Cambric Cotton — for summer dresses
Pakistan’s own summer staples: fine, breathable cottons that stay cool in serious heat. Lawn is feather-soft (we use it for scarves and embroidered kurtis); cambric is a touch sturdier (our co-ord sets). Both are opaque in the weights we choose. Care: machine wash cold; wash lawn separately the first time.
Georgette — for maxi dresses
A flowing, slightly textured fabric with beautiful movement. Our maxi dress is fully lined, so georgette’s lightness comes with complete coverage. Care: gentle hand wash cold, hang dry in shade.
Storing Your Pieces
Hang abayas and dresses on padded hangers to keep their shape. Fold scarves loosely — chiffon creases if it is crushed, while crinkle scarves prefer to be twisted and knotted loosely. Store embroidered pieces inside-out, away from direct sunlight, so colours and threadwork stay fresh.
